Programs & Events

• educating ourselves, the general public and decision makers about these resources;
   
• taking steps to assure that these resources are not inadvertently or intentionally damaged or destroyed and that new developments in Takoma are compatible with its historical scale, character and charm;
   
• advocating for government policies and programs that will enhance Takoma's historical resources; and
   
• coordinating our efforts with appropriate governmental agencies and other private sector organizations.

Furthering these goals, Historic Takoma has been active working with people throughout the Takoma community including residents, businesses, government agencies and institutions with connections to or an interest in Takoma Park.

     These pages have some highlights of activities we are currently involved in. This section of our website will grow to include pages and links for every one of our many historic preservation projects and collaborations.
