For over thirty years the Takoma Community has held an annual house and garden tour.  In 2000, Historic Takoma took over running the tour.  That year the tour went through the Victorian and pre-World War II homes in historic North Takoma in Takoma Park MD.  In 2001, the tour featured twelve homes in historic Takoma DC, including the new Takoma Village Co-housing and the Takoma DC Library.   In 2002, the tour featured eighteen homes and gardens of B. F. Gilbert's 1886 addition, "New Takoma" south of Ethan Allen near the present day Co-op and Takoma Junction.

The Historic Takoma House and Garden Tour is held annually on the first Sunday in May. The tour is self-guided and generally features 10-18 outstanding homes and gardens from selected neighborhoods within Takoma Park, MD and Takoma, DC. Tickets are sold in advance at local businesses, at the Takoma Park Farmer's Market and directly from Historic Takoma. Proceeds from the tour are a major source of income for Historic Takoma and are used to fund the organization's many community programs and activities.  As the tour approaches we will post more information on this website.
